What coil cleaning actually involves

A loaded evaporator coil stays quiet until it fails. Airflow drops first. The coil then runs colder. It sweats, then freezes over. Ice blocks the face and liquid refrigerant heads back to the compressor. That repair dwarfs the cleaning. Attic air handlers add a second hazard. When the ice thaws, the pan overflows and the water lands on the ceiling drywall below.

Flush the pan and trap. Clear the drain line too. A clean coil draining into a plugged trap still floods.
